I have been doing this for awhile but....No one ever stops learning, I feel that you must have goals and something to work towards. That is what inspires and give purpose to life. I chose to work on my horsemanship and try to effect change for the better in myself and the horses that I play with.
Over the years I have been relatively successful in developing good relationships with my equine partners but since becoming involved in Parelli Natural Horsemanship I have found even more of the answers and ways to help horses and humans become more confident and learn to be better partners. I board my horses at Trinity Trotters Equine and coach at that facility. I am offering Horsemanship Lessons, Beginner Riding lessons and Confidence Coaching . I also train horses and help them get confident. |
Yes I was that young......his name was Prince |
I began riding at the age of 9 at Green Willow Stables in Hornby. I was given the basics by a kind Irishman Dan Jones and his family. My parents leased me a horse when I was 12 and I have pretty much owned horses ever since then. After finishing my B.A. at the University of Waterloo I purchased a second horse from Lorne Seigle and continued learning and riding. In 1980 I began managing Home Crest Stables in Oakville and did that for 7 years until the property was sold. We mostly did boarding but also ran schooling shows from May through September. After the barn closed and I was employed out of the industry I continued to keep my own horses and did part time work for Jane Casselman at Touch and Go Farm in Cambellville, Claudia Wagner at Silver Spring and Jane Sabucco at Trilliumview Stables in Oakville.
Over the years I also showed at local schooling shows and on the Trillim Circuit for Central West. I was fortunate enough to be coached by Terry Leach, Bill Jackson and Jane Casseleman.
In 2000 I purchased a PMU foal from a group in Alberta and in 2001 I went to Alberta to help with the foals in September. While out there I learned about Parelli Natural Horsemanship. In Feb 2002 Horse Sport Publications brought Pat and Linda Parelli to Hendervale Stables with their Success with Horses tour. I bought their Level 1 package and began my learning journey. Onward...........My Recent Horsemanship Education
